Requirements are a good PC and knowing how to install the pack ( not hard)
Instructions : •Install Cities Skylines - After Dark and start it once •Place the contents of "Place in Documents folder" in C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines (hidden by default) •Place the contents of "Place in game folder" in X:\Cities Skylines (mass transit needed)
*Don't forget to activate all the mods except vanilla ones (or do if you want) others things are activated automatically including my recommended game settings/ mods settings so little to none fiddling is required.
Recommended System Requirements OS: Win7 64 bit/Win 10 64bit Processor: Intel i7 6700k CPU or better Memory: 16GB DDR4 2666MHz (32GB recommended) Hard Drive: 120 GB SSD / m.2 SSD Graphics Card: DirectX 11 graphics card 8GB VRAM or better(Nvidia GTX 1070)
*Applications can be sent at firstname.lastname@example.org *If/when 5 applications are sent i'll create a test pack and send you guys the download link (please don't share for the moment) *A maximum of 10 people can apply (first come/first served) *Please send you PC's config when applying (MB,RAM,GPU,CPU.SSD etc)
The Why :
I've tested the pack for extended periods of time so it's very stable, what primarily needs to be tested is performance with because i can't go above 10k populations without my framerate going down in the gutter 15-22 FPS (Probably my GPU)
My observations so far :
Pack runs and loads splendidly with very little inconveniences (considering the size of the project) and it's pretty much finished but needs performance testing from people with beefier PC's. And yes sadly this pack won't run on potato PC/laptop.
*32GB of RAM and a m.2 drive is HIGHLY recommended.(pack uses a LOT of RAM and pagefile aka assets, more than i have right now)
*Average Loading time with 80 mods and 1450+ assets is 1 minute
Feedback needed :
*After playing with the pack for an extended period of time please send a e-mail again (or reply on this thread) with the average framerate after creating cities with big populations or just playing at your own pace (no time limit) *How balanced the pack feels.Does it need something more?Is it to much?
*Screenshots are optional but i would appreciate it immensely if you guys sent out some creative SS with you nice cities. The best will be posted on the website.You have all the tools possibly needed to take superb screenshots. (TIP : pressing SHIFT+F12 will take a 4k SS which then you can convert to 1920x1080 and retain the fidelity but not the size)
*Videos are optional but i would appreciate it immensely, gameplay/reviews/cinema shots go wild.The best will be posted on the website also.
Caveats / minor annoyances / known bugs
*Crashes on new-game on specific maps -I tested as much as i could and remove the ones that i could find,if you get a crash on new-game it means that's an older map that's not updated / compatible with mass transit
*Red RAM sign when loading a map followed by a game crash -You need more RAM
*Roads United Core+ needs to be set to vanilla and to US reworked versions after every map load -Specified by the author of the mod and that he cannot work around this -You need to go to RoadsUnitedCore+ set to vanilla and press ESC. Press ESC and set back to US Roads again.This will become second nature after awhile.
*I saved but can't load the game immediately after saving,what gives? -Exit the game / re-open and load your game. It will load fine.
*Load screen mod is showing some missing assets -Some of them i removed manually for better performance -Some of them ARE there but the mod doesn't see them -Some i didn't get for performance reasons -I went through about 3000 assets making the pack and I've removed almost everything that could cause FPS slowdowns with the help of Mesh Info Mod -Don't worry if the assets aren't present in a place-able object / building they will simply not show up.It's fine
*Errors on loading a map -Some mods depend on some assets make sure everything is checked -Some assets depend on some mods make sure everything is checked
*Some maps will use custom themes (i've downloaded most of the needed ones but game can't auto find) but you can select custom themes from the dropdown menu (yes any custom themes for any map)

Mods that affect performance negatively
1.MOM (metro overhaul mod) + all the mods required to run it cut into my framerate in a pretty major way for me, might not the same for you but just a heads up.A great mod but can't compromise on performance.
I'd love to help test it. My GPU is a little under-powered (GTX780ti) but the rest of my rig should be enough.
I've run into a problem with the pack. i think it might be an faulty asset but i can't find it.
The game usually runs at 35-60FPS but recently i've been getting 5-15 FPS in building tabs ( when selecting what building to ...well build) My own suspicion is the few hundred added assets that i've added recently (or at least a few problematic ones) as i have a total of 1936 assets (and about 100 mods) ATM and the lack of ram (i have 16GB DDR4@2666 and the game is using 24-26 max, i have bypassed this limit by using 16GB as virtual ram from my m.2 drive) Has anyone encountered something similar? Known assets or mods that could be the culprits? Any help would be much appreciated. EDIT : here a SS with RAM usage during loading screen it usually goes down after some time / after loading
